Unfortunately, it’s easy to forget the most basic law of your company. . . you do not have a business until you have a customer!

I learned this the hard way when my best customer service dropped the bomb on me. One of the initiatives in my home business, are seeking work. I’m offering a variety of services and products.

Susan, the best customer had bought some of my e-book products and services in my home business was still young. He was a regular e-mail asking me to get the work carried out work in the country. At one point, asked me the references. I advised him not to give references to prospective employers until the interest has been established.

In other words, I told him references to the reserves before he had created the interest and the employer was to give a signal to buy that he was seriously considering his candidacy. Then, when asked for references first made his decision, he could say, “I’ll be happy to provide excellent references if you are ready to place an order.

Well, my strategy counterproductive. The employer said that he does not continue longer, until he was able to check his references. He resisted, because I was advised, and cut the conversation and sent him packing.

He was contrite. He wanted his money back because I had given bad advice. His reaction to pose a serious challenge for my business at home because it was a wonderful client and bought some of my products and services will continue. For me, this has been irritating the bomb!

After careful consideration of how to proceed, I have toured the route e-mail and picked up the phone to speak with him directly. I told him I was sorry that my advice does not work. However, I stressed that, as a courtesy without charge, while the products he purchased a separate transaction, independent of the communication.

Since I appreciated his client, I would like to arrange credit in a part of your purchase. And I showed him how to fight disappointing reaction to his prospective employer so that they could reopen the debate and move toward an offer of employment. This time it worked!

According to the story of your company’s success depends on the success of his client!
